Yay! It's out!!

Yay! The YF-19 has been released, so, without any further ado, MW: 1/60 Yamato YF-19. Ohhhh, I can't wait until mine comes!

What the crap? I like it!

While I was browsing the internets, I found this site that had coverage of some event in Japan. What really caught my eye was this picture of an Evangelion figure. Now, between Revoltech, Soul of Chogokin, Kaiyodo, Bandai, and who knows what else, there is no shortage of Evangelion figures in this world. What makes this one unique is that all the armor comes off to reveal the angel body within. This side of the Eva was really only seen in the comics, though it was somewhat important in them. Anyhow, this looks really cool, and makes me want to get one, since I love removable armors and all. ;D

And now, for something completely sexay!!!

I was fast asleep. Probably snoring. I woke up, in the middle of the night, about 4:40AM, and staggered downstairs. I thought thre reason was that I wanted some water, since I was rather parched. But after sating my thirst, I got on the computer, for curiosity's sake. Little did I know, on the other side of the globe, of of the Macross World Forum members had gotten his YF-19 a full day early, and decided to take pictures of it. All pics courtesy of Sebastian from the Macross World Forums

Anyhow, after the Scorponok fiasco, I figured anyone reading my blog would need to view something that makes them feel less dirty, so here goes!

The first couple pics are just of the box, these were seen in a previous post on this blog, and while it still looks good, it makes me sad to see it imprisoned so, and probably makes the YF-19 cry as well.

Next is the tiny figure of Isamu Dyson. He looks really, uh, blue. Which I guess is accurate. I dunno, I'm not sure if I'm sold yet on the pilot figure. I've been a big fan of transformers and other unpiloted robots for so long that the idea of a pilot in a robot is kinda weird to me. When I build my Gundam models, the pilot never goes in, though I admit that probably has more to do with my being too lazy to paint them. Anyhow, a pic of Isamu. Also, he looks like his feet got chopped off.

Next up is a bunch of pics of the fighter mode. The user who got this figure, says he was in a hurry, and didn't have time to transform it. Maaaan, I would have MADE time!

One of the Macross World users was quick to point out that this pic looks very much like this still from Macross Plus:

He was right.

Next up, are some comparison pics with other valks. This guy has a nice collection of nice valks. Shown here is the YF-19 beside a VF-0S in fighter mode. I should point out, that the VF-0S and the YF-19 are both 1/60 scale figures, while that VF-1S and VF-1A Low Visibility on the launch frame are both 1/48. The reason the figures are the same size, despite their scale differences is that the VF-0 was a prototype airframe, really more of a proof-of-concept fighter, and the engines to power it were massive, making the plane much bigger than it's successor, the VF-1. The YF-19 is also huge, because it's too sexy to be contained in a small size.

Here is a pic of it from the side. As far as I know, Sebastian had no time to apply any decals, and all the markings you see are Tampo printed on, which is good.

Dang, that VF-1A Lox Vis looks good too, too bad it's one of the most expensive Yamatos you could get.

Now is where I show my true nerdyness. The top shelf there has a VF-1J Strike Stealth in Battroid mode, and a VF-1J Strike Stealth in fighter mode, a Hikaru version VF-1S (probably) in gerwalk mode, a VF-1J Hikaru with GBP-1S armor, and a VF-0A in battroid mode. At the GBP's feet are a battle pod and a destroid, but I don't care about them.

On the next shelf is two VF-0S's, one in battroid mode, one in fighter mode, the VF-1S Strike in battroid mode, and the YF-19 in sexy mode, followed by the VF-1J Low Vis Super Valkyrie in fighter mode.

The next shelf, VF-1J Millia type in battroid mode, and VF-1J Max type in fighter mode. 1/60 Millia type Q-Rau, 1/60 VT-1 Super Ostrich Trainer, fighter mode, 1/60 VE-1 Elintseeker fighter mode, and in the back, a 1/48 VF-1A cannon fodder type in battroid mode.

On the bottom, 1/72 VF-11B battroid, 1/60 VF-1D battroid, I wanna say that Vf-2SS battroid is 1/72, but I don't know offhand, I can't remember the name of that big sucker. The fighters in front are all 1/72, left to right, VF-11B w/ FAST pack, YF-21, and YF-19.

Of note, both the VF-11B and the YF-21 got re-released as FAST pack variants, but Yamato never got around to re-releasing the YF-19, probably because it looked so frumpy compared to the 1/60 YF-19.

Which brings me to the last image, a comparison shot of the VF-1S, 1/60 scale YF-19, and the 1/72 YF-19. Now, as I was saying, the Yamato YF-19 never got re-released, and thus has become somewhat sought after. What started out as a $70 figure goes for about $300 nowadays. That is, until any sets their eyes on this picture, then they'd be like, "dang, I can get the 1/60 YF-19, feel good about myself, and save money too!" That 1/72 YF-19 will be crying itself to sleep from now on, repeating to itself, "I have inner beauty!" like a mantra.

Scorponok, BoooooooOoooooooOOoooOooO!!!

So, I just went to TFW2005 again, and what awaited but more amazing Transformers the Movie news! I load it up, and I'm like, "Woah! Movie Scorponok! That's really cool looking! He looks better with color than he does without it!"

Scorponok is one of the Decepticons that apparently shows up early in the movie and chases down a bunch of Marines, making them all crap their collective pants. Of course, being Marines, they can't acknowledge the fact that they were scared spitless, but we know the truth. "Uh, it was a STRATEGIC RETREAT, sir!" Scorponok apparently seperated from the character Blackout, who turns into a helicopter. This is supposed to explain the airframe markings all over it.

Then I scrolled down to the robot modes.

And I said, "!......................................................................................................?"

Yeah, I was actually left speechless after seeing them. This is, without a doubt, the crappiest actual transformer that I have ever seen. Go Bots were better. McDonalds Kids Meal TFs are better. I mean, you rotate down his head, fold down his legs, and reposition his arms. That's all! I don't even have words right now to say how incredibly lame that is.

It's a box!

More YF-19 news, here's some pics of the YF-19's box. I feel bad for the guy, imprisoned in his cage of cardboard and plastic. Be free! Be free, you sexy plane!!

Transformers Movie toys!

Logged onto TFW today and saw these suckers. Pretty nice reward for just loading a page. These are the toys for the Transformers Live Action movie, and I guess they look pretty good. At the very least, they actually look like transformers, instead of just robots, like Prime and Bumblebee, did in their CGI forms. Anyhow, this first one is named Barricade. He's a Ford Mustang Saleen, and he has an awesome lat mode. His bot mode looks pretty decent too, though it appears to be full of kibble. His legs don't look like they integrate any car parts, so it kinda look like he's gonna have most of a car hanging off his back. BTW, the little freaky-bot is called Frenzy. I think it's supposed to turn into a CD stereo or something.

This next one is Bumblebee, the old Camaro version. There is a new Camaro coming out, and Bumblebee upgrades to the latest model sometime in the movie. Since the bot mode of this toy looks very similar to the bot mode of the movie (upgraded) BB we've seen, you can count on THAT toy being just a remold of this toy, only the alt mode changed. Anyhow, the smudged you see on this toy are supposed to be rust spots and whatnot. The original prototype we saw of this toy had clear plastic for all the parts that had windows, but now they are all obviously yellow plastic. The Bot mode is pretty good too, though it really emphasizes how much of a liar Michael Bay is when he said the transformations would involve no cheating.

This last brute is called Brawl. As you can see, he's a giant friggin' tank. And then he turns into a giant friggin' robot. Not much more to say at this point, maybe more later.

I guess these guys look okay, but they really don't make me super excited to go out and get them. I guess I'm not going to be too broke up about being on a mission when these things hit shelves.

Again though, all I can say, is that SPX guy has the best job. All the Transformer prototypes go through him, it seems.

Gundam FIX #0033 preview

This just in! Here is a scan from one of the hobby magazines that has GFF previews. This is the GFF #0033 X Gundam. This figure has parts for the X Gundam, X-Divider Gundam (mostly just an equipment change) and the GX Bit, which is a remotely operated mobile suit that can be controlled by a Newtype, but in the same way that the bits on the Quebeley, or the Sazabi are controlled. Here is the scan:

Yamato's upcoming YF-19...

http://static.flickr.com/99/311159462_7639b94edd.jpg?v=0
I was browsing the internets and I saw this picture of the upcoming Yamato 1/60 YF-19, and I just about had a joygasm. This is such an awesome looking mecha, all around, the fighter mode, the gerwalk mode, the battroid mode, all sexy. There is rumors of a 1/60th YF-21 Omega One, but I'm not quite as keen on that thing. There are, however, rumors of a option set that includes FAST pack armors, fold booster, and Yang in the backseat (circled in the shown pic.) THIS I am super keen on!

Anyhow, I just thought I'd share this with the world.

Trying something new.

I'm not sure how or if this is going to work, so everyone, or rather, no one, stand by... I'm using a PerFormancing doo-dad that I added into Firefox that may help me get back on track with keeping my blog up to date.

Yay for Citroen stuffs!

Anyhow, something on the internet caught my attention and I decided that I was going to find all those Citroen commercial things. First of all, while I was looking, I found some vids of a customized Citroen C2 at a recent London car show. This thing was cool, sporting a strangely alien look, with organic looking parts, mechanical looking parts, and video displays everywhere. It only has one seat inside, but has a really awesome internal setup. Next, I found the full version of the dancing Citroen commercial. It's almost twice as long, and show the car stretching it's servos before it's video debut. This ad became somewhat of a cultural hit, and a spoof of it came out soon afterward. At a publicity event, Citroen hired a pair of dancers to dress up as car robots and move to the music, that's cool too. Lastly, Citroen made a new commercial, this one was ice skating, instead of dancing. Notice, it's the same make and model of car, completely different transformation. And what sparked my interest in this? The man who directed the original dancing Citroen commercial is directing the Halo movie.

More Revoltech........!

I was again browsing teh interwebz and I found some goodies. Remember my old post about Revoltech figures? (which appears to have losted it's picatures) Well here's some new stuff. This mecha has been one of my favorites, and I have recently become refascinated with tiny robots. pics later. And before I go, something totally cute. (Yuna is such a hotness!)

This is insane.....

So, today is the first day of the hydroplane races here in the Tri-Cities. In between heats, there is also an airshow that goes on. The last few years we've had a local F/A-18 flying around, thrilling the spectators and pissing off the neighbors. So, I got online to find some sweet airplane videos. I think I got what I wanted.

First up, this insane story, of an F-15 pilot who suffered a midair collision, the worst possible accident for a pilot, yet managed to make it home. Wait till you see how he did it.

Next, we have another airborne disaster, where a YF-22 makes an emergency landing without it 's landing gears. Despite what the title of the video says, this is indeed a prototype YF-22 and not a production version, as you can see from the shape of the rear elevators. (hope I got my terminology right....)

Now, for some positive stuff. A couple of promotional videos made by Lockheed Martin about the F-22. Good golly, that plane is so hot!

A cool video about the JSF F-35 "Lightning II"

What appears to be an oldie but a goodie, some SR-71 footage. Looks good!

And lastly, another F-22 montage.

I knew it!!

McDonald's is trying to kill everyone!! Or rather, just the surplus population that does not contribute. People like ME, who dislike McD's food!! Ahhhhh!! We're all doomed!!

On a lighter note, by request, the E3 trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

Ha! Beat this!

Read it and weep!

.....and I totally still had a green Special Attack too............

My new addiction...

I mean, diversion. Honest! I don't actually play two or three, um, or ten games of this before I go to bed. All reports of my having spent a solid hour experimenting with new techniques have been obviously exaggerated! And I certainly didn't ask anyone or translate the text so I could play the game better!

That said, this game rocks.

It's called Nanaca Crash! and it's a fun little Shockwave game I ran across in my Internet travels. Basically, the objective is to drive up on a bike, and hit a poor, unwitting, and (from the attacks of the ladies) probably pervy upperclassman. You click and hold the mouse button when the angle is what you want, then you release when the power is what you want. Wheee!!! The guy goes flying! Scattered in random order throughout the level is various classmates. The guys either make him slow down, or they change the angle. The girls attack the guy, boosting him faster or higher. One girl, a tall, dark haired, nihilistic looking one will avoid him, then block the next person he encounters, kinda annoying. And then another one, her picture icon has a green border, will end the round, as he grabs onto her, as though for respite. Now, you also have the option of teleporting your bike in, and bashing the guy again. When he is angling down, and you have a red arrow attack left, you'll boost the guy back up. You only have three of these, so be careful. When he is angling up, and the blue boost is charged, you can hit him down, possibly into a person who will boost him further. The blue attack recharges while he is in a 'zone' and can be used theoretically indefinitely, so long as you play your cards right.
Last but not least, the Specials. A box in the upper right hand corner stays dark most of the time, but certain events activate specials. They have a girl icon on them. When the guy hits a girl with the icon lit, click the mouse at that moment, and she will perform a special, which is a super boost, and funny to watch. Keep trying to see how far you can toss the upperclassman!

And I'm not addicted. *twitch* Honest.

Another video day!

First off, Tim's 360 is still unloved. :(

The first video is pretty funny. It depicts the Japanese police force versus Darth Vader, the dark lord of the Sith. Yeah, guess who wins.... Second, we have a cool Trigun AMV. Not much to say about that, other than it's cool, and it has a kickin' song from Halo 2. Third, a lightsaber fight off YouTube. It starts off with a really sappy Revolutionary War era love letter, then gets to the good part. The choreography was fantastic! Last off YouTube, possibly the best one of the day. You know how James Earl Jones was in movies other than Star Wars? And he had lines other than Vader? Yeah, look what happens when you cross those. Finally, one from Google Video. I will say, first and foremost, I love Japanese people, culture, music, food, language, and shows, but I will also say that whenever you hear of someone who is so good at something that it's quite disturbing, that person is almost always Japanese. Case in point:

And last but not least, some YTMND stuffs. Enjoy!
Thwomps thwomping.
Daft Punk Osaka.
Friggin' hilarious Shinji.
New Character in Halo 3.
