And now, for something completely sexay!!!

I was fast asleep. Probably snoring. I woke up, in the middle of the night, about 4:40AM, and staggered downstairs. I thought thre reason was that I wanted some water, since I was rather parched. But after sating my thirst, I got on the computer, for curiosity's sake. Little did I know, on the other side of the globe, of of the Macross World Forum members had gotten his YF-19 a full day early, and decided to take pictures of it. Anyhow, after the Scorponok fiasco, I figured anyone reading my blog would need to view something that makes them feel less dirty, so here goes!

The first couple pics are just of the box, these were seen in a previous post on this blog, and while it still looks good, it makes me sad to see it imprisoned so, and probably makes the YF-19 cry as well.




Next is the tiny figure of Isamu Dyson. He looks really, uh, blue. Which I guess is accurate. I dunno, I'm not sure if I'm sold yet on the pilot figure. I've been a big fan of transformers and other unpiloted robots for so long that the idea of a pilot in a robot is kinda weird to me. When I build my Gundam models, the pilot never goes in, though I admit that probably has more to do with my being too lazy to paint them. Anyhow, a pic of Isamu. Also, he looks like his feet got chopped off.


Next up is a bunch of pics of the fighter mode. The user who got this figure, says he was in a hurry, and didn't have time to transform it. Maaaan, I would have MADE time!

One of the Macross World users was quick to point out that this pic looks very much like this still from Macross Plus:

He was right.

Next up, are some comparison pics with other valks. This guy has a nice collection of nice valks. Shown here is the YF-19 beside a VF-0S in fighter mode. I should point out, that the VF-0S and the YF-19 are both 1/60 scale figures, while that VF-1S and VF-1A Low Visibility on the launch frame are both 1/48. The reason the figures are the same size, despite their scale differences is that the VF-0 was a prototype airframe, really more of a proof-of-concept fighter, and the engines to power it were massive, making the plane much bigger than it's successor, the VF-1. The YF-19 is also huge, because it's too sexy to be contained in a small size.


Here is a pic of it from the side. As far as I know, Sebastian had no time to apply any decals, and all the markings you see are Tampo printed on, which is good.

Dang, that VF-1A Lox Vis looks good too, too bad it's one of the most expensive Yamatos you could get.

Now is where I show my true nerdyness. The top shelf there has a VF-1J Strike Stealth in Battroid mode, and a VF-1J Strike Stealth in fighter mode, a Hikaru version VF-1S (probably) in gerwalk mode, a VF-1J Hikaru with GBP-1S armor, and a VF-0A in battroid mode. At the GBP's feet are a battle pod and a destroid, but I don't care about them.

On the next shelf is two VF-0S's, one in battroid mode, one in fighter mode, the VF-1S Strike in battroid mode, and the YF-19 in sexy mode, followed by the VF-1J Low Vis Super Valkyrie in fighter mode.

The next shelf, VF-1J Millia type in battroid mode, and VF-1J Max type in fighter mode. 1/60 Millia type Q-Rau, 1/60 VT-1 Super Ostrich Trainer, fighter mode, 1/60 VE-1 Elintseeker fighter mode, and in the back, a 1/48 VF-1A cannon fodder type in battroid mode.

On the bottom, 1/72 VF-11B battroid, 1/60 VF-1D battroid, I wanna say that Vf-2SS battroid is 1/72, but I don't know offhand, I can't remember the name of that big sucker. The fighters in front are all 1/72, left to right, VF-11B w/ FAST pack, YF-21, and YF-19.

Of note, both the VF-11B and the YF-21 got re-released as FAST pack variants, but Yamato never got around to re-releasing the YF-19, probably because it looked so frumpy compared to the 1/60 YF-19.

Which brings me to the last image, a comparison shot of the VF-1S, 1/60 scale YF-19, and the 1/72 YF-19. Now, as I was saying, the Yamato YF-19 never got re-released, and thus has become somewhat sought after. What started out as a $70 figure goes for about $300 nowadays. That is, until any sets their eyes on this picture, then they'd be like, "dang, I can get the 1/60 YF-19, feel good about myself, and save money too!" That 1/72 YF-19 will be crying itself to sleep from now on, repeating to itself, "I have inner beauty!" like a mantra.
